Easy Southern Cooking/ Sweet Corn Bread Recipe

Sweet Corn Bread

½ stick melted butter
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
1 Tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten

In a large bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.  Stir in the butter, milk and egg , stirring until just combined.  Do not over-stir.  Pour into a greased pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20 -25 minutes, or until golden brown and toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.  These can also be baked in muffin tins or molds.
