Old-fashioned Apricot Raspberry Jam
2 pounds prepared apricots
1 ½ cups raspberries
¼ cup water
2 ¼ pounds sugar
Hot sterilized jars and lids
- Wash the fruit thoroughly. Cut away any blemishes. Peel and pit apricots.
- Crush or chop fruit.
- Weigh fruit and sugar.
- Put fruit and water into a heavy kettle large enough for the mixture to boil up. Heat to boiling point.
- Add sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Cook until thick, stirring frequently to prevent burning. The cooking time will be from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on your fruit.
- Jam is done when thick. Pour immediately into hot sterile jars and seal.
